Out of sheer coincidence, it has been almost exactly a year since I last posted. I've been meaning to get back to blogging here to give a full report of our bike tour. It's a little tardy, but I wanted to do a proper retroactive blog of our day-to-day travels. It's a good way to show off pictures, too! I'll be posting here at least a couple days a week, so add it back in to your RSS feeds!

New Tour Diaries
Yes, yes, the tour is over. Boy, I thought I was short on time when I was riding my bike 6-8 hours a day and sleeping 10 hours a night. Apparently it's even harder to fit in time to write when I'm only riding my bike 1 hour a day to and from work. Despite the lack of time, the tour lives on with the occasional tour diary. Here's a couple new ones, The Power of Penne and Where Bad Shows Get Good. Enjoy!

The Fest Podcast
While we were at The Fest 8 in Gainesville, I played on Sunday as scheduled. But the night before, we were invited to an unofficial show in a hotel room. You'd be surprised how many people can fit into one room if you take apart the furniture! Despite the fact that we had all seen 10+ hours of music that day, 25 or so people piled into this hotel room to enjoy some more tunes. I played four songs and was joined by my buddy PJ Bond and a nice dude named Tom from a band called The Menzingers. Rich and Nariman from Sound Scene Revolution were our hosts and were brilliant enough to record the show for their semi-regular and totally awesome podcast.
I think the party factor is evident in this recording. And by party factor, I mean we were all two days into the craziest music party I've ever a attended. Jon and I were pretty hoarse at this point from all the singing and talking to friends over loud bands, and you can hear that on the recording, too. But it's a good time, and I tell a couple good stories, and I even swear a few times (you've been warned). You can listen to it or download it here. Thanks to Rich and Nariman for being two more people in the long, long parade of do-gooders who gave us an extra hand on this tour. If you like good interviews with small punk bands, be sure to check out the rest of their podcasts.

DTV Radio Piece
Before we left for the Ditch The Van Tour, I did an interview in Ithaca with WRVO's Jasmyn Belcher. She produced a short radio piece that aired on a couple public radio affiliates, and you can listen to it here! Enjoy.

Sorry for the delay, more to come shortly
In the short interim between now and the next post, I thought you might like to hear the President of World Bicycle Relief, F.K. Day and Pro-Cycling Director Johann Brunell getting interviewed about the project by Bicycling.com. Check it out HERE.

Flashback: Leaving Garnett, SC
We got a visit from super-friends Pete and Lara, where we stayed in a church together in Garnett, SC, then rolled to Statesboro, GA, together for a stay in a heavily discounted mega-swanky hotel. Pete took some video footage and edited it together. Enjoy!
